Whitehead
This is a seaside village on the east coast of County Antrim that has a pretty shingle beach, Victorian promenade, water front. You have to come off the A2 to find it. Just keep heading for the sea. Your perseverance will be rewarded when you feast you eyes upon a row of
delightfully painted Victorian houses over looking the sea. The village is almost midway between Carrickfergus and Larne. It lies in a small bay at the entrance to the Belfast lough between the limestone cliffs of Whitehead and the black volcanic cliff of Blackhead. Look out for the Blackhead Lighthouse on top of the Blackhead cliff. The remains of the ruined tower from Chichester castle built in 1610 lie in the town.
