The small Christmas market is held around the town hall. It is not in one location. There are stalls in both town hall squares and in the covered markets corridors under it.

If you have Christmas mulled wine you have the option of keeping the Christmas mug or returning it to the central wash room to get your deposit back. You must buy a Rothenburg ob der Tauber sausage in a baguette.

It is thin but about a meter long and sticks out of each end of the baguette by 10 cm each end. It is the longest sausage I have seen for sale in Europe. What is very special about Rothenburg ob der Tauber at Christmas is that the town is lit by white Christmas lights. They give a fairy tale feeling to the whole town.
