Palm Springs Many visitors miss the best part of Palm Springs. It is the beautiful springs that can be found in the Indian Reservation at the bottom of the main high Street. When you get there it does not look like there is anything to see but as you drive down the dry canyon and up into the foot hills you come across green oasis surrounded by tall shaggy palm trees. There are a number of oasis to visit and they are all different. As you leave you must make time to visit the Indian gift shop. Hanging outside are exotic bird feeders for brightly coloured humming birds. They are full of sugar water. You can spend hours drinking a cold can watching these amazing creatures hovering by the feeders. Near by is the Joshua Tree National Park. There is a circular route with stopping off places where you can walk through the desert on way marked paths amongst giant cactus. Some are like giants with arms that spread up to the sky as if someone was praising the Lord, hence they were called Joshua trees. |
